Franklinton United Methodist Church
Franklinton United Methodist Church (FUMC) is a community of believers founded in 1844. We practice a life of holiness by loving and serving God and our neighbor because we believe that faith and works go together (James 2:18). This understanding and practice of personal and social holiness is our heritage received from the Methodism movement, born in 1738 with the experience of Aldersgate of John Wesley, in England.
FUMC is a church of diversity. We are open arms, open hearts, and open doors. All those who want to know the love and grace of God are very welcome. All those who wish for a friend, and a word of encouragement, are very welcome too. The table of communion is also open to those who need the mercy of God. All are welcome.
Rev. Johnny Llerena is the current pastor of our church. He and his family came from Peru to serve in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. Rev. Johnny received his Master of Divinity from Duke University in 2021 and will be ordained as an Elder in June of this year. In addition, Pastor Johnny will begin the Doctor of Ministry program at Duke in September. His wife, Claudia, is an excellent cook and enjoys preparing and sharing Peruvian food.
Currently, we are strengthening our organization to serve better the Franklinton community and beyond.
